Clothing releases “Tóxico Saico”

Today, Mexico City-based artist Clothing, aka Santi Ropa, shares 'Toxico Saico', a new single from their debut album La Muerte en Realidad no Existe ahead of a March 28th release on Tin Angel. Inspired by personal trauma, and Ropa’s own experience of growing up queer either side of the US-Mexico border in the era of Trump, the album is an intimate, heart-rending Bildungsroman disguised as a fantastical, gunslinging cowboy epic.

A heart-breaking 50s-inspired serenade, 'Toxico Saico' finds Ropa crooning "Toxic Psycho, my dear, it’s best you let me go, idiot, gayboy, self-centred clown, it’s best you let me go" over dancing accordion and gently tumbling instrumentation. Of the track, Ropa explains: "This is a painfully honest song that deals with the blurred line between love and hate. No one is spared—only those you love the most can really hurt you."
